Mexico City

M E X I C O   C I T Y

This part of my research on Mexico City includes all the aspects of the city that I hope to draw inspiration from for the general theme and style of my brand. The research includes city landscape photographs, the fashion, art, music and festivals/carnivals that come from the city.

F A S H I O N

Whilst searching for street fashion in Mexico City, I came across many items of clothing that had the face or portrait of the Virgin Mary on them. This inspired me to somehow incorporate the image on to my design work. I also gathered that the fashion style was very decorative in the way the clothes were designed and styled as well as the exciting prints and materials they use. The clothes seem to be almost gypsy-like, and this is one of the main influences on my clothing brand’s style.

Research

The way that this logo's main focal point is the image is an idea I may take on board for my own. The text however is just as noticeable and works nicely around the image.

I chose this image to display because of the icon artwork. I think it is a great logo and because of the high quality of the image, the text would work well in a number of different typefaces.

This image look as if it was made by hand with ink or led. I also very much appreciate the way the image is made to fit the top of the text, it brings the two elements together very nicely.

This logo is spread out across a lot of space, the way the designer has located all the elements makes it work very well. I also think the choices of typeface complement each other well.

Like the pinacle logo, the image in this logo is placed to fit around the text. This is an idea I may bring into my own work.
